Musings || On working as a medical doctor
There's a whole hype about how being a medical doctor is a really tasking job and as a medical doctor myself, I sometimes feel like that hype might be overrated. This experience during my housejob year made me thing differently.

Being unapologetic about your growth.
One of the reasons why I decided to finally start this blog is to document and share my experiences going through life, along with lessons learnt from them. I find some sort of release in doing this via writing, hence my preference for Twitter over Instagram on my social media list. The most recent experience I had was deciding to change my work place from a rural area to a more urban centre. This might sound like a no-brainer but it wasn’t exactly that for me. I am one to ponder a lot on things, almost to a detrimental level. I used to worry about this part of me in…

Housejob Chronicles ||O n Chill
As promised in my last post in the housejob chronicles series, I’m posting this just a few days after completely the 2nd of 4 postings in my internship year – Obs and Gyne. I really have gone halfway through my housejob year already. Wow! Time does fly. Although this post is several months late (pediatrics was the first of 4 postings in the program), I think it’s only right for me to still make a post about my experience. When I was younger, I used to tell anyone who cared to listen that I wanted to become a pediatrician in future. To everyone who I might have said that to, I apologize, I definitely didn’t…

On getting a housemanship placement
Welcome back to my space. 😀 So in my last post, I wrote about how I occupied myself post-graduation/pre-housemanship. This post is about how I got my housemanship placement in a place I never would have thought of. I started my housemanship programme in October 2018, about 3 months after I was officially inducted into the medical profession and roughly 6 months after writing (and passing!) my final professional exam in medical school. At the beginning of 2018, I never would have imagined myself doing my housemanship anywhere outside of Lagos, specifically LUTH. At some point before my induction, I got wind of another place other than LUTH to complete…
